Position Summary
The Event Server provides exceptional food and beverage service at events such as weddings, galas, corporate functions, and private parties. This role requires professionalism, teamwork, and attention to detail to ensure a seamless guest experience and uphold the standards of NYE Staffing and the event venue.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up event spaces (tables, chairs, linens, glassware, and décor) per specifications.
- Serve food and beverages courteously and efficiently following service standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely, accurate service.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of service and event areas.
- Clear tables, restock supplies, and assist with post event breakdown and cleanup.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines (company and venue policies).
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and positive attitude.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors for smooth operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in events, banquets, or food service.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- English proficiency.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of service standards, etiquette, and basic event logistics preferred.
- Flexibility to work weekday, evening, and weekend shifts as scheduled.
Compensation
- Pay Rate: $19–$25 per hour (experience & event type).
- Tips: Eligible when applicable based on event structure.
- Schedule Flexibility: Select shifts that match your availability.
Appearance & Conduct
- Uniform: black dress pants, white or black dress shirt, black tie, black non slip shoes (unless specified).
- Uniform must be clean, pressed, and professional; maintain excellent hygiene and grooming.
- Cell phones off or on silent during active service.
- Positive, team oriented attitude; treat all guests and colleagues with respect.
Work Environment
Fast paced, dynamic settings including hotels, banquet halls, conference centers, and private venues. Frequent standing, lifting, and movement in crowded spaces; extended hours may be required during large scale events.
